Sysangel finished, HD wont boot setup

Postby simon92922 » Wed Feb 21, 2007 12:12 pm

I went through sysangel and did everything it told me, it copied c.7z and other files needed, it extracted everything it needed with no errors what so ever, then i got a message about it rebooting. It shut down the graphical interface and then shown me a black screen full of text, a lot of it was intepret errors or some kind then some error at the very end.

It rebooted and it went to boot from the HDD as normal, however the system hung, keyboard became unresponsive and I had to restart via the button, I am now back in sysangel installer and trying to find out what I am doing wrong.

If anyone could shed some light please feel free.

Same thing hapends to me, the only difference is that I don t get the errors , after the Sysangel finishes the setup I get the message ,, reboot in 20 sec" the system reboots but instead to launch the Windows XP setup keeps rebooting in a loop.

I was wondering about a fix for this too. It tells me ntldr is missing. Even when I try and replace the ntldr file using Windows XP recovery console the system then tells me disk error when it tries to boot up.

Any help would be appreciated.

Using my desktop as a host, PXE booting on my laptop. Attempting to install windows XP.

Ran DVD generator, (after countless hours of trying to make it work), eventually got it to complete.

Laptop booted from PXE fine. Went through the Sysangel install on the laptop, , everything seemed to go perfectly fine (again, after countless hours of trying to make it work) ..

Linux finishes doing what it does, goes to restart computer.

Restart.... NTLDR is missing.

Anyone have an update as to how to fix this?
My laptop has no CDRom or floppy drive, going all network install here...

n/m, I got it working. I will explain what I did differently, to help those in the future.

Before, I got rid of the 700+ driver files that I figured were useless. After all, it IS a lot of extra junk that you are forced to download. Nonetheless, I redid the DVD generator with all the drivers present, to be included in the generated files for the laptop.

This solved my NTLDR problem.

For the creator - Please, fix the problem where the tons and tons of extra software is forced to download. I'm currently deleting all of it, as I do not find any of it necessary. We shouldn't be forced to use it.....

Anyway, props are due as well, since I just successfully installed WinXP on my drive-less laptop, even if it took days and days of troubleshooting :p

Someting IS going to be done. The project needs to be re-activated a better way, I do agree.

same issue..

Postby scullionuk » Fri May 16, 2008 8:57 am

Hi all,
I'm having the same issue with or without all the drivers, also with or without "all" the other software....

one odd thing is when it's finished it doesn't automatically reboot - screen turns black and just seems to sit there...

if i restart my machine I get:
Restart.... NTLDR is missing.

any ideas?

thanks
Mike
