We've just started using PING here at our world headquarters. We're a tax and financial advisory firm located in Missouri.
I run a small, ~200 machine lab that consists of mock tax offices. We have QA testers that use these offices to test new software. Whenever we turn over an office to a testing group, they have to go through a time-consuming process for setting up the machines in that office before they can actually test anything. Then, once they've run through a testing cycle they have to go through the office setup process completely from scratch--a process that takes several hours. PING allows us to set up an office, take snapshots of the machines and store them on a server. When the testers are ready to start another cycle, they just use PING to pull down that preconfigured image we created for them, thus saving them hours and hours of redundant work.
Once a few more bugs are worked out, we'll be able to allow the testers to use PING without our help, which will allow them more flexibility in their testing.
