DHCP or repository access problem

Postby sraros » Tue Apr 06, 2010 11:11 am

1st off i have a toshiba mini notebook nb200-13j which after a bios reset with jumper shorting, it seems like the disk has been erased too because it cant boot from disk. Bios is phoenix 1.20 and doesnt support usb boot only hdd and lan and the laptop has no floppy drive or cd-rom. And my ethernet card is Realtek RTL8101.

So i tried the WINNER project after doing some homework. I updated the Kernel from PING project. Everything goes smooth until at network settings this msg appears: Eth0 not found... Use DHCP...seems OK

THe DHCP is set like
Gateway: 192.168.0.1
Server(repository): 192.168.0.2
target client: 192.168.0.3

and later at repository settings either ftp or smb keeps looping back at type of connection for repository selecting screen.
So I tried through console ping the server or the gateway and there's a huge delay 15 to 30 secs with over 50% packet loss. Tested the lan cable and seems fine.
Before updating the kernel with the PING project there was no ping at all.
So is it because Realtek RTL8101 is not supported ? DHCP problem ? or repository ?
Any help or guesses please welcome.

ok still didn't manage to solve this. Another question to come around with this problem.. When booting from HDD the msg invalid partition table appears. Is there a way to fix this through lan or the console included in the sysangel?
